ACUITY Cool Picks for Teens
Welcome to ACUITY Cool Picks, the Teen Summer Reading Program for grades 6-12, happening beginning May 28 through July 31, at Mead Public Library.
Join us this summer and become a member of ACUITY Cool Picks @ Mead Public Library. It’s all free! All you have to do is read. The more you read, the more chances you’ll have to win a great prize.
Register from home or while you’re @ Mead Library. You must have a library card to join. Library cards are free; sign up or renew at the first floor Customer Service Desk or register for a library card online.
After you finish a book, fill out an online report form and you’ll earn a chance to win one of our fabulous prizes including: Xbox 360 console; Nintendo Wii console; a gift card for Target, Amazon, Best Buy or iTunes; portable DVD player; bicycle; LCD HDTV; books; DVDs; and much more!
We have something for everyone—movies, video and board games, prizes, and a kick-off carnival at ACUITY.
We want you to visit the library this summer! If you are one of the first 50 teens to sign up @ the library after school (3 p.m.) on Tuesday, May 28, you’ll get a free bookbag, including a $10 gift card. Can’t make it that day? No worries. Teens who register @ the library through June 28 will have their names placed in a weekly drawing. Each Friday, through June 28, five lucky teens will win a $10 gift card.
Join us at ACUITY headquarters for a kick-off carnival on Wednesday, June 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Bring your library card and join ACUITY Cool Picks, play giant versions of some of your favorite games or try the Wii on the big screen, and learn some awesome new board games with The GameBoard staff.
Enjoy free soda, walking tacos, and ice cream. Enter a drawing to take home one of 20 gift cards, or our grand prize, an iPod nano!

We Need You!
You might win a $50 gift card while you help with ACUITY Cool Picks. Mead Library needs teen volunteers to help keep our shelves in order and to help at the kick-off carnival.
Here’s how it works: Every time you volunteer, you’ll get a chance to win. Plus you’ll have a reference for job, school, and scholarship applications and earn volunteer hours for service organizations. Volunteer up to 3 times a week, June 17 to Aug. 23, for one hour each time. If you’re at least 14 years old, apply at the Maas Teen Learning Center by June 14.
We are really in need for volunteers at the ACUITY Cool Picks carnival on Wednesday, June 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at ACUITY. If you are interested in helping at the carnival, please talk to Matt in the Maas Teen Learning Center as soon as possible.
