WiFi Access
Mead Library also offers free wireless Internet access (WiFi) for customers using laptop computers or other wireless devices that connect to the Internet.
The WiFi service is available throughout the public areas of the building. The installation was funded by a bequest from Marian Jenkins.
The wireless access provided by Mead Library is not protected, so users are advised to have current antivirus and firewall protection installed on their computers to avoid interception by other users.
Most laptop computers will automatically locate the wireless network, which is named “meadexcelnet.” Library staff members will not provide any support for customers’ personal computers, nor will the library be responsible for any changes customers make to their computer settings in order to connect to the wireless network.
Like those who use the library’s public computers, library customers using their own computers must abide by the library’s Acceptable Use Guidelines for Internet Use, the Code of Conduct, and any other applicable policies.
