Inside-Outside: Poetry at Mead Public Library
10 am-2:30 p.m., "Stacked Book Poems" participatory workshop. Make a found poem using library book titles.Participants choose 5 to 8 books from designated areas of Mead Public Library, stacking them so that the titles create a poem. These stacks of poems will be displayed in the library until the end of the contest. A drawing will be held for each of the three categories, with one $50 prize awarded to one winner in each category: 13 to 17 years old; 18 years and older; Friends BookStore selections for age 13 and up. One entry per person, please, limited to 60.
(The following events will be held on the terrace outside of Mead Library; if it's raining, events will be held in the Rocca Meeting Room)

noon, Karl Elder of Lakeland College reads "The Houdini Monologues" with free books for all
1 p.m., Wisconsin's poet laureate, Bruce Dethlefsen
1:30-3 p.m., Open Mic. Bring a poem (your own or another's) to read, signup begins at noon
Fleck's curbside grill will be parked outside the library from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
