Ruby is a certified therapy dog with Therapy Dogs International (watch a video from this organization) owned by Ted Kaczmarski. She is very gentle and would love to listen to children read. Children are often self-conscious when reading aloud in front of others. Reading with Ruby provides an opportunity to practice reading aloud to a non-judgmental audience, a dog. Kids can relax, pet the dog, and focus on reading. Children can read to Read to Ruby on Wednesdays, June 6 to Aug. 29 (except July 4 & 18), at 6 p.m. in the Story Garden.
