The Friends of Mead Public Library will host a free film series as part of the adult reading program this summer, in the library's Rocca Meeting Room.

Today's feature is "Up" (rated PG, 96 minutes), an animated feature with voices by Edward Asner, Christopher Plummer, and John Ratzenberger. Carl Fredricksen spent his entire life dreaming of exploring the globe and now in his 78th year he launches his house into the sky via thousands of balloons. Right after liftoff he discovers he has a stowaway in the form of an over optimistic 8-year-old Wilderness Explorer named Russell. This hilarious journey takes you into a lost world with the least likely duo on Earth.

The film series is funded by the library's Everhard-Forrer Fund and the Friends of Mead Public Library. Parking meters with a five-hour (or longer) limit are available along both sides of 9th Street and also in the parking lot adjacent to the library nearest to 9th Street.
