Movie for Adults
Content Body
The Friends of Mead Public Library will host a free film series as part of the adult reading program this summer, in the library's Rocca Meeting Room.
Today's feature is "Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day" (rated PG-13, 92 minutes), starring Frances McDormand and Amy Adams. In this 1939-set film, Miss Guinevere Pettigrew, a middle-aged London governess, finds herself unfairly dismissed from her job. Taking a chance with a new job as a social secretary, she finds herself immediately caught up in the dizzying social whirl of an American actress and singer. She tries to help her charge navigate a love life and career, both of which are complicated by the three men in her life in this delightful comedy.
The film series is funded by the library's Everhard-Forrer Fund and the Friends of Mead Public Library. Parking meters with a five-hour (or longer) limit are available along both sides of 9th Street and also in the parking lot adjacent to the library nearest to 9th Street.
