April Fools’ Day came and went with no fanfare at our house this year.  We don’t usually do much to celebrate the holiday but between returning from a one-week vacation on Saturday, March 31st and then focusing on Palm Sunday on April 1st, April Fools’ Day was completely forgotten. I realized on April 2nd that we had overlooked April Fools’ Day and spent a little time thinking about pranks and pranksters.  I decided to see if we had any books about pranks at Mead Public Library.  Most of the books about April Fools’ Day listed in the catalog are for kids but I found the following books for adults who are still kids at heart.

Causing a scene: extraordinary pranks in ordinary places with Improv everywhere by Charlie Todd

Cubicle warfare:  101 office traps and pranks by John Austin

Sir John Hargrave’s mischief maker’s manual by John Hargrave

The museum of hoaxes:  a collection of pranks, stunts, deceptions, and other wonderful stories contrived for the public from the Middle Ages to the New Millennium by Alex Boese
