Mead Library offers a “Great Books” Discussion Group led by Char Schreiner on the following Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. The groups will discuss these selections: Jan. 17: “The Melian Dialogue” by Thucydides; Feb. 21: “Age of Iron” by J. M. Coetzee; March 20: “Julius Caesar” by William Shakespeare; April 17: “Longing” by Amos Oz; and May 15:Selections from “Tao Te Ching” by Lao-Tzu.  The Mead Public Library Great Books Discussion Group is open to people of all ages and educational backgrounds and new members are always welcome. The program is offered to the community at no charge, funded by the library's Everhard Forrer Fund and the Friends of Mead Public Library. Persons with disabilities who need accommodations to attend a program should call 459-3400, ext. 3414, at least three weekdays in advance.  Seven days are required for a sign language interpreter request.
