Fox and Branch family concert
Content Body
Mead Public Library will present a free concert of family folk music with Fox & Branch on Thursday, April 15, at 6:30 p.m. Children of all ages and their families may attend this special program in the library’s Rocca Meeting Room to mark National Library Week and the Month of the Young Child.
Dave Fox and Will Branch play a timeless kind of music. Their crowd-pleasing mix includes old blues, jug band songs, fiddle tunes, New Orleans-flavored numbers and Cajun tunes. The duo has played at clubs, festivals, schools and libraries all over the Midwest, as well as on the east coast. Their music has been played on folk radio across the United States and Canada.
Fox began performing as a teenage member of a jug band in Madison, Wisconsin in the 1960s. In 1997, Fox was named World String Blues Champion at Avoca, Iowa.
Branch has made his living through music for most of his adult life. He performs often as a solo act, playing his own songs and traditional material. His first solo recording, “Press On,” received airplay on many folk radio stations.
