Mead Library has what you need to be connected. We have Internet-connected computers, including laptops, for public use, and WiFi in our building. Read more about Internet acceptable use guidelines and Internet safety too.
Mead Library offers opportunities for individual assistance for those who are new to computers. Here's a good tutorial to learn mousing skills to get started: Mousing Around.
Library customers who need one-on-one personal assistance to learn to use a computer can “drop in” to Mead Public Library for help. Computer beginners can get free help with mousing, word processing, e-mail and basic Internet.
Someone will be available for assistance at the second floor Internet workstations (no reservation needed) beginning Sept. 8, on Tuesdays from 9 to 10 a.m.; on Wednesdays, from 4 to 5 p.m., and on Thursdays from 1 to 2 p.m. The sessions will continue through Nov. 19, then will break for Thanksgiving, resuming Dec. 1-10.
Mead Library also offers free personalized computer help on an appointment basis. Customers may get help with basic skills or learn how to use Mead Library’s catalog, online resources and databases (including genealogy, car repair, foreign language studies, test preparation, and more).
To make an appointment, or for questions, call Mead Library at 459-3400, ext. 3422 or stop at the second floor Reference Desk.
