Library customers who need one-on-one personal assistance to learn to use a computer can “drop in” to Mead Public Library for help. Computer beginners can get free help with mousing, word processing, e-mail and basic Internet. Mead Library also offers free personalized computer help on an appointment basis. Customers may get help with basic skills or learn how to use Mead Library’s catalog, online resources and databases (including genealogy, car repair, foreign language studies, test preparation, and more). To make an appointment, or for questions, call Mead Library at 459-3400, ext. 3422 or stop at the second floor Reference Desk.
Do you need to know how to get a job? Paul Stein, career consultant from Great Lakes Training & Development Corp., will offer free sessions for teens age 15-19 to help you find, apply and interview for jobs. Registration is required, space limited; call 459-3400, ext. 3420. Attending all three sessions is recommended, but not required. What’s the next step in developing your career? Find out where you go from here by taking a free self-assessment for job and career development. Mead Public Library will offer sessions on two dates in August. Paul Stein, career consultant from Great Lakes Training & Development Corp., will present sessions for adults and teens 16-up. The program will be held on Thursday, Aug. 5, from 11 a.m. to noon, continuing at 2 to 3 p.m. The program will be repeated at the same times on Thursday, Aug. 12. All programs will be held in the library’s Rocca Meeting Room. Registration is required; call 459-3400, ext. 3420.
